根据天气预测，由于周二晚间至周三有雪，BC省府敦促司机在恶劣的天气条件下尽可能呆在家里，减少不必要的出行，远离省内高速公路。
2月21日周二，BC省交通和基建厅（BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure）在新闻稿中敦促司机降雪及寒冷天气开车需要更加谨慎。本周末气温将明显下降，提醒司机出门时，要小心路面状况，同时做好应对准备。

运输厅指出，由于周二晚间和周三可能会下雪，周末将出现更多的冬季天气状况，建议司机为低陆平原道路上的积雪和泥泞情况做好准备，省交通厅已敦促道路和桥梁维修承包商监测情况，并准备好在必要时全力出动，根据需要在所有省道上铲雪、撒沙和撒盐。
