瞬即蔓延至隔邻同样两层高的温哥华街道教堂。
该教堂为区内无家可归者提供膳食及外展服务近三十年。

温哥华消防和救援服务表示，晚上9点左右开始发现大火，到达后，已经有一栋建筑物完全被火焰卷入。
现场的火焰、浓烟坍塌危险让消防员无法冒险，不得不采取防御措施，温哥华消防和救援服务局局长Brian Bertuzzi说。

消防说，有两座建筑物严重焚毁，但这两栋楼里都没有人，消防及时阻止火势蔓延至隔邻另一座建筑物七层高的Maple酒店。
