周三深夜，位於維多利亞路附近的東黑斯廷斯街的Value Village發生大災。當局是晚上10點左右收到911的報警電話，當時商店還在營業。
溫哥華消防局表示，當消防員趕到時，火勢已經失控，在幾分鍾內燒毀了建築物。

主要是商店裡的易燃數量太多，很快演變成大火，明亮的橙色火焰射向天空，濃厚的煙霧吞噬了整個社區。
就連遠在北岸的人都能看到灰色的煙霧。

由於火勢太大，溫哥華消防和救援服務隊直到今天周四早上仍在撲滅火源熱點。
