Position Title: Manufacturing Process EngineerContract: 6 months (to start by mid March 2012)Location: Calgary, AB Position purpose:The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining manufacturing processes. He/She will provide support to the production department and initiate process improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:- Develop and improve electronic mechanical assembly processes through controlled evaluations including measuring, monitoring data collection and analysis in an industrial plant- Generate process maps, manufacturing control plans, sequence of events, work instructions- Determine process design to minimize labour, overhead costs, and manufacturability, develop process documentation, process maps and routings, assure production readiness and documentation accuracy for manufacturing processes. Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.- Be part of the NPI team to assist with the release of new products through DFM analysis and process development- Support Safety and Operational directives- Other related duties as required
