Box requirements:(1) 8 RJ-45 jacks in single line on PCB ( or 2 rows of 4 RJ-45 jacks) - Just plain jacks, no transformers or shielding is required.
(2) 2 double pole double throw (DPDT) pushbutton switches on PCB ( may change later to simpler pushbutton switch.)
(3) 1 USB port jack on PCB
(4) 8 pair shielded cable that is 6 foot in length with one end terminating directly on PCB and other end terminating with 8 DB9 female connectors and 1 USB male connector.
(5) Box-like case to be small as possible. Must hold PCB and allow access to connectors and switches. Must have opening for shielded cable to exit with strain relief. Material on box is not important as long as it is sturdy. can be metal or plastic.
(6) PCB will consist only of etches connecting across connector pins, Prefer 2 layer board, if possible. No other electronic components are to be mounted on PCB.No power is required for box.
(7) Usage: indoors, counter-top or side mountable, meets material rules for US and canada.
(8) We are planning on using PCB Artist software to layout PCB. Do you accept the output files or do you have other layout software for us to use (no charge).
