The decision by the Ontario Labour Relations Board came after a hearing that lasted almost 13 hours.As a result, schools in the Toronto, York, Peel, Durham and Halton boards will all be open today. However, bus service has been cancelled for Toronto and York students. Bus service remains for Durham and Peel, with the exception of Caledon due to weather conditions.Toronto police are warning the public that there will be fewer crossing guards on the streets Friday and are advising caution. Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario president Sam Hammond told reporters he was disappointed but the union would respect the decision and expect that teachers show up for work on Friday. Protests had been planned outside the Ministry of Education and the offices of the provincial Liberal leadership candidates.点击展开...
