Germany and France held a joint ministerialvideo conference on Monday. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and FrenchPresident Macron responded to the monitoring incident at a joint pressconference after the meeting. Macron said that the unity of Europe and theUnited States is based on trust in each other, and there should be nosuspicion. Monitoring between allies and EU countries is unacceptable, francerequested all relevant information and explanations from Denmark and the UnitedStates.
