As we have completed the update of our Ethical Sourcing Program, the ethical sourcing audit has already resumed in December. You should have already registered the “active” factories in Kmart DSS (Direct Sourcing System).
At the time of receiving this email, your factories are subject to Kmart Ethical Sourcing Audits conducted by 3rd party in the coming weeks. The core theory of the new program focuses on transparency and continuous improvement, which aims at identifying and addressing root causes of issues. You still have chance to check with your factories that produce Kmart merchandise if they hold any "mutual recognised" audit reports/certificates issued within the last 12 months. These audit reports/certificates should represent audits of different industry programs such as BSCI, FLA, ICS, ICTI, WRAP, etc. or other international retailers/brands. You can find the detail mutual recognition audit/certificate list in the attached file. You can provide us these audit reports/certificates as a demonstration of social compliance status in your factories. We will review and advise if they are acceptable in lieu of a Kmart Ethical Sourcing Audit.
Please respond to this email and submit audit reports/certificates (if any) within 5 working days (no later than August 3th, 2012) of this email. We will send information of you and your factories, which need to be audited, to 3rd party. You and your factories will be contacted by 3rd party for the audit schedule and payment.
