Rita:I will publish my Saturday trip notes now for Montana without agreement on the terms, lead times, etc. It seems that some of what we discussed on the weekend has been abandoned.
When we visit next week, we will spend time on this. I believe Olia shows much urgency. Scheduling is mostly scientific. The way that Olia uses Montana's cash though needs improvement.
Montana pays Olia for each day longer it takes to get goods. Does Olia wait 45 days to get its raw materials and pay some of that money in advance? Does Olia pay for its goods a couple of weeks before it actually receives the goods? Does Olia stock more because of long lead times? Montana does. Think about it.
We are going to press for a more scientific response to what Olia can do. I believe you are managing Olia for good responsiveness. We need to do better though. It is Montana's money and we need to improve the use of that money.
I look forward to seeing the pictures re: scrap and we will discuss scrap improvement as well.
