1， why are you going to change the existing gear type coupling to universal cardan shaft? If it was because of the operating angle is not enough? Or have problems of durability?( Please describe service condition，replacement frequency and failure mode of the existing gear type coupling) .
2， We think if choose good alloy steel material and heat treatment process, Gear type coupling can carry more torque than universal cardan shaft（20%~40% higher）. Rotation accuracy is also better. For operating angle less than 1.5 °，we recommend to use gear type coupling.
If you can provide the drawings of the existing gear type coupling, it will be perfect.
We will give you an technical and commercial solution ASAP.

Operation and function are not all to your customer's consideration, there may not be so many reasons why the customer would change to the universal cardan shaft...do you think of the cost of the maintenance and replacement of the part?will your gear type coupling be easy to get in the market?

2. well noted: gear type coupling can carry more torque than universal cardan shaft by 20%-40% higher,moreover, rotation accuracy is also better, and its angle is less than 1.5 degree. so we kindly recommend to use the gear type coupling.
