Not everybody knows how to read report card, which is written in a set of coded language full of jargons and cliches. Since my master degree is in the field of education, I had experience writing report card to parents and administrators. If you have any questions about your kids' report card(s), you can post it here and I may be able to help you to decode its deeper meanings. Resultingly you know how to communicate with teachers and urge for further advance. Suggestion:a. Highly recommend you to use an unidentifiable ID for the sake of the protection of your kids' privacy.

回复: How to read report card...Thanks for ur kindness here. Right now i have some questions about college group assignment. I am back to school and taking the program of childhood education now. In the 3rd and 4th semester, we have only group assignment. I have gone through 3 so far, suffering a lot from the conflicts among group members. Usually, i have to bring up ideas and prompt group work, and all the others are just waiting. My group members are all asians. I have to look through all their parts and give advice. I have to catch everyone and have a meeting. The result is that they are happy with each other and never show appreciation to me. I get offended now and then. The worst thing is a vietmenese girl who is often absent from class and group meeting. She usually scribbles her part and turns up at the last moment, questioning our work. I have 15 years' working experience, but never felt so frustrated as right now. Could u pl say sth about ur experience and give some advice? Thanks a lot!

You lead the discussion, you push everyone to get together and you are hurt more by the Vietnemese's remarks. I guess one of the reasons that your group members are not as engaged as they should be is that they are not quite actively involved. If I were you, I would send out emails and let all the members claim responsibilities.

We all failed. 点击展开...One more thing to do to protect yourself from the peril of group work, but definitely the last thing you want to do is to make sure that the professor knows how the group work goes. I had a friend did the similar thing, and she ended up with a A for that course.

I have experienced 3 group work with this vietnamese girl, suffering a lot from her laziness and rudeness. I m going to talk to the instructor this time before we handed in our paper. If i miss the opportunity to get advice from the instructor this time, i may come across the same situation again and again in the last semester.
