This also applies to adoptive parents. Do children have to write a test and take the oath?Children who are under the age of 18 at the time of application do not have to write the citizenship test. Only people between the ages of 18 and 54 have to write the citizenship test. If you are 55 or older, you do not have to write the test.Children under the age of 14 do not have to take the oath. Only people aged 14 and older have to take the oath.
