The deposits are situated within a contiguous claim block consisting of 69 claims (1442 hectares) that are wholly owned by Barry Ernewein of Whitehorse with no underlying royalties.The project area is situated 16 km southeast of Whitehorse along the paved and/or chip sealed Alaska Highway and 2 km south of the Alaska Highway-Carcross/Skagway Highway junction. Gravel road access exists off the Alaska Highway to all of the deposits as part of the historical exploration legacy from the 1960’s through 1980’s. These roads were utilized during the 2008 exploration program conducted by B. Ernewein at a number of the deposits.Deep-water port facilities are located roughly 155 km south in Skagway, Alaska. Rail infrastructure (White Pass and Yukon Route railway) passes within 3 km of all the deposits and runs south to Skagway. The rail system was fully operational to Skagway hauling concentrate from the Whitehorse Copper Belt and other operational mines until 1982, which coincided with the last year of production within the Whitehorse Copper Belt. The rail currently facilitates tourism along part of the route but the Yukon government has indicated possible reinstatement of the line for industry use.Historically in Yukon, the most significant copper production was from the Whitehorse Copper Belt from a series of copper skarn deposits formed along a 30 km trend. Production is reported at >10 Mt grading approximately 1.5% Cu with significant gold and silver credits in several of the deposits. The skarns formed during the emplacement of the 112 Ma Whitehorse Batholith into limy sediments of the Triassic Lewes River Group. Although the historical mines have been decommissioned an historical estimate of roughly 3 million tonnes of resources grading 1% Cu with unknown gold, silver and molybdenum credits are documented in seven undeveloped deposits with potential for additional exploration and discovery.
