The statistics that follow come from the University of Kent’s Destination Survey which indicates student activity six months after graduation. At Kent Sociology can be studied with a variety of other subjects. The destination statistics below reflect all types of combinations available. SOCIOLOGY ? ALL UK GRADUATESThis is what, in the broadest terms, Sociology students do immediately after they graduate, based on University of Kent data collected between 2004 and 2007. Employment 71% Further study 16% Not available 8.5% Seeking employment 4.5% OCCUPATIONS OF UK SOCIOLOGY GRADUATESHere are the occupational groups in which Sociology graduates nationally first gain employment, based on recent data. Clerical & Secretarial Management & Administration Associate Professional & Technical Occupations Personal Services Sales Professional Occupations EMPLOYERS OF UK SOCIOLOGY GRADUATESThese are examples of the employment areas first entered by Sociology graduates. Business & Research Public Administration Health & Social Work Wholesale & Retail Finance Education Community, Social & Personal Service Transport, Storage & Communication Manufacturing Hotels and Restaurants Others JOBS WHERE A SOCIOLOGY DEGREE MAY BE USEFULHere are some examples of jobs where a Sociology degree may be useful.
