The Immune Systems Biology Group, hosted by Department of Infection and Immunity of Luxembourg Institute of Health is searching for excellent PhD candidates in immunology and postdoc candidates in computational biology or bioinformatics. The Immune Systems Biology Group, a junior research group, established from March 2015, focuses on unravelling how the dynamic molecular networks of immunocytes quantitatively, rather than simply all-or-none, respond to various genetic variance or mutations as well as environmental factors including stresses under physiological or pathological conditions. To this end, the group develops and applies integrated computational and experimental systems biology strategies to predict and delineate the dynamic molecular networks of immunocytes.

The group in cooperation with Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine has recently received a Luxembourg-RIKEN (Japan) bilateral fund to investigate regulatory T cell responses in the context of barrier diseases. The received funding will support both experimental and computational PhDs or Postdocs to be hosted by several groups within the areas of immunology, single cell analysis and computational biology.

1, Profile of the PhD candidates:

•        A Master degree in biology, molecular biology or immunology
•        Good knowledge and experience in laboratories
•        Good knowledge and experience in immunology is a plus
•        Experience with animal disease models is an asset
•        Excellent working knowledge of English

2, Profile of the Postdoc candidates:

•        The ideal candidates need to have a PhD in computational biology or bioinformatics with a strong statistical background.
•        The candidates need to have provable track records in computational biology such as large-scale data analysis (RNA-seq and/or microarray analysis), machine learning, network inference and analysis, and others with at least one first-author paper in related journals.
•        The candidates need to be skilled at least in R and Matlab.
•        The candidates shall have very good writing and communication skills in English
•        The ideal candidates have been awarded a PhD for less than 5 years.

The successful candidates will benefit from the development of the junior group and the true inter-disciplinary environment in additional to the competitive salaries. The candidates will also enjoy interaction with the wet- and dry-lab members of the group, the department and other international partners.

据我所了解，2014年的工资水平是：博士生 40154 EURO/年，博士后 56975 euro/年 （税前），现在大概稍微高点了。
