Monday May 18th is Victoria Day in 2009. It’s not the 24th this year - remember that!This is the time when cottagers, car nuts, bike enthusiasts, gardeners and spring shoppers all make their presence well known.So, who else is left in town? Enough it seems. Some would have returned from their long weekend trip but others have yet another thing they want to do - go watch the fireworks. For those people that have remained in cottage country for another day, there are venues and fireworks displays all over the Province and Canada.Expect private backyard fireworks displays and also town organized ones in amusement parks.Free Fireworks Display at Ashbridges Bay Try Ashbridges Bay on the Beaches on Monday May 18th to enjoy a free fireworks display that should start after 9:30pm. Head down earlier in the day you can stroll the shops and boardwalk to make sure you get a great spot to watch from.Fireworks at Ontario Place Victoria Day Weekend is also opening weekend at Ontario Place. The park will open at 10am all three days of the long weekend, closing at 6pm on Saturday and Monday. But on Sunday May 17th the park will stay open until 10pm so you can enjoy fireworks in the evening, beginning at 9:30pm. Of course, you can also just get near Ontario Place and keep your eyes on the sky.Fireworks at Canada’s Wonderland A fireworks display is planned on Sunday May 17th at 10pm. Admission fees apply. Go much earlier in the day to enjoy the rides and entertainment too. Then relax and enjoy the fireworks before heading home.Jubilee Queen Cruises - Fireworks Cruise See the fireworks from the water. Jubilee Queen Cruises offers a special evening cruise on the Victoria Day Weekend that also includes dinner and dancing. This is if you fancy a cruise.Around Town cities like Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Mississauga City Center, Brampton, Pickering, Ajax, etc, will all have their own displays. So you don’t have to feel like you need to try and fill into one small area.Victoria Day is for everyone and the celebrations are everywhere!
