加拿大税务局昨天发出的通告中指出，乘客在今年7月1日或以后使用公车月票，且月票上同时显示以下信息，便可申请获得退税，包括：注明这是一张公车月票；注明月票的生效日期或有效时间；注明发行月票的交通机构；注明月票的价格；注明月票使用者的姓名。如果乘客购买的公车月票上未同时显示以上所有信息，乘客可以持购买月票的收据(必须注明购买时间)或使用 信用卡购买月票的月结单等其他证明，来申请获得退税。

The following is a copy of English version of the news. OTTAWA, June 19 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canada Revenue Agency is advisingtransit users to keep their monthly transit passes and receipts if they planto claim a proposed new tax credit for public transit use on their 2006 incometax return. If a transit pass displays the following information, the pass itselfwill be sufficient to support a claim for the tax credit: - an indication that it is a monthly (or longer duration) pass; - the date or period for which the pass is valid; - the name of the transit authority or organization issuing the pass; - the amount paid for the pass; and, - the identity of the rider, either by name or unique identifier. If a transit user's pass does not contain all of this information, theAgency advises that transit users also obtain a dated receipt, or retaincancelled cheques or credit card statements, to support the claim. The creditwill be available for the portion of the pass that is used on or afterJuly 1st, even if the pass is purchased before that date. Additional information on how to claim the proposed tax credit for publictransit passes will be posted soon on the Canada Revenue Agency Web site atwww.cra.gc.ca. The transit pass credit, announced as part of the May 2006 federalbudget, will allow individuals to claim the cost of passes for commuting onbuses, streetcars, subways, commuter trains and ferries. In addition toclaiming his or her own cost of transit passes, an individual can make a claimon behalf of a spouse or common-law partner, and the individual's childrenunder the age of 19, to the extent that they have not already been claimed by them.
