从2011年开始就不生产了，2010年是最后一年生产甲壳虫。

回复: 给想买新甲壳虫的同学提个醒那以后没有BEETLES了？？？点击展开...以后就没有新的甲壳虫了，市场上还会有二手的。至于为什么不生产了，不知道。当年甲壳虫也是停产了，一停就是二十多年，知道98年开始生产新甲壳虫。也许不久的将来，大众会出来更新一代的甲壳虫呢。

Possible variants included two-seat Beetle roadster, SUV-type Beetle, and the standard hard top.[7][dead link] Motor Trend reported Volkswagen would build the next generation of Beetle based on Volkswagen Golf Mk6 and Volkswagen Scirocco platform. It would be styled in California and engineered in Germany. The cutesy bug-eye look, rounded shape, and bulbous roofline would be replaced by a more aggressive style with a sportier stance and coupe-style roof. The vehicle would be released in 2010 as 2011 model.[8] Car Magazine reported there would be two Beetles, with a smaller version based on the 2007 Volkswagen up! concept, and the bigger version based on the Volkswagen Golf. The exterior would be based on the Beetle Ragster concept.[9]
