据最近一期《环球时报》报道，因随身携带多名法律委托人的护照而被加拿大海关人员当成人贩子，不容辩解就被戴上手铐并受到言语羞辱------着是加拿大华裔律师黄冬冬最近在温哥华乘机时的遭遇。据当地华人社区的居民反映，温哥华国际机场的部分海关人员对华人旅客态度生硬、粗暴，黄冬冬事件只不过是最近的一个例子。 温哥华国际机场对华人移民的不友好的态度由来已久。据黄本人讲，海关人员“野蛮执法”，法警不听他的任何解释，就将他戴上手铐，像押犯人般在公众聚集的候机大楼内走来走去，无视人权及个人尊严。另外，在审问期间，对方多次使用侮辱性语言和行为。 据了解，温哥华机场部分海关人员态度粗暴、冷漠早已广受诟病，许多来自国外的移民，包括东欧、拉美、非洲甚至西欧的移民，都层对此表示强烈不满。华裔旅客在海关更是经常成为被检查的对象。另外个别海关人员对华人旅客的粗暴态度，也不排除带有种族歧视的色彩。
