我临时绿卡8月初过期。5月初我已递交申请正式绿卡。5月中收到收条说绿卡自动延期1年。请问：在这个等待过程中，我可以9月，拿着过期的临时绿卡和那张收条回国吗？谢谢

用这个收据可以相当于临时绿卡的待遇，应该可以暂时自由进出美国

After you received the Receipt Notice of I-751 application, if you want to go outside of the USA, you must do as this: 1) go to infopass to make an appointment with your local USCIS office 2)bring the Receipt Notice to the local USCIS Office with you, 3)ask the window Officer to stamp I-551 on your passport, then you could leave this country and back the USA without problem.

You can not us the Receipt Notice to enter the USA, you must stamp I-551 (Temporary Green Card for one year limited), that's the law for you and that's the safety for you.
