Dear Prime Minister I am an applicant for the Permanent Residence of Canada and writing to you in hope to raise some concerns regarding mistreatment of those applicants who submitted their files before February 27, 2008. Canada is a model of democracy around the world and her government’s actions are thought to be transparent, so we are waiting for such a long time with a dream that one day we can become her citizens. Now something comes up and our dreams have been shattered somewhat. Before February 27, 2008, immigration cases were thought to be processed in the order of their receipt by CIC offices, based on the principle of “first come first serve”. After February 27, 2008, someone was given the privilege to jump the queue. This really frustrates the applicants submitting their cases before February 27, 2008. This kind of action is unpredictable. Should we be punished just because we, very unluckily, submitted our files before February 27, 2008? We are waiting, desperately, for a few years just to see that others receive their visas in a few months’ time. The CIC officers shelved our files and took no glimpse of them again. No one releases any information about when the CIC officers will begin processing our cases or how long we will have to wait to see some progress in our cases. Dear Prime Minister, could this kind of unfair treatment be changed to give us a hope that we are sharing the equality and attention. Could the CIC Officers at least parallel process cases both before and after February 27, 2008 instead of only taking care of those received after February 27, 2008. Thank you!
