One man injured in the latest targeted shooting in VancouverMarch, 27, 2009 - 12:40 pm THE CANADIAN PRESS http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php VANCOUVER, B.C. - The latest shooting in Vancouver was most certainly targeted, but city police couldn't say if Friday's gunfire was part of a continuing gang war sweeping across the Lower Mainland."They knew who was in the suite, they certainly directed the shots at the suite," said Insp. Bob Chapman outside the modest Cassandra Hotel in East Vancouver.Someone fired several shots from a lane outside the hotel and the bullets smashed through the window of a second floor suite where six people were partying.One man was hit twice - once in the left forearm and once in the thumb and was taken to hospital, but Chapman couldn't immediately comment on a motive for the attack."Whether there was any gang connections ... we don't know right now. It's too early in the investigation," he said.He noted police found several shell casings in the lane behind the two-storey hotel and a guest in the suite below the targeted room agreed bullets were flying."It was rapid fire," said Colin Rolston, as he described the sound of at least 10 shots. "My friend said, 'oh, that's fireworks' and I said that's not fireworks."Rolston said they hid beside their beds until police told them it was safe.Chapman said Vancouver's emergency response team had to be called because one of the five uninjured guests in the targeted suite refused to leave the room.With police concerned there may be weapons inside, officers surrounded the suite and were able to talk the intoxicated man out after two hours of negotiations.The remaining five people in the suite were taken away for questioning but no arrests have been made in the shooting.警方分析枪匪看来是有目标的，从宾馆的后巷向二楼的一个房间开火，室内有六人正在开party，一人伤及前臂和拇指，室内人估计至少发射了有十枪。
